CUT ABOVE THE REST!(TEXAS ROADHOUSE MEAT CUTTER IS “2019 NATIONAL MEAT CUTTING CHAMPION”; TO COMPETE AT THE INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN TAIPEI IN JANUARY 2020)


Joel Herher, a butcher from Texas Roadhouse was recently named “2019 Philippine National Meat Cutter Champion”.  He bested three other contestants during the Philippine competition and will advance to the International Championship and will represent the country in Taipei in January 2020.

Herher has been a meat cutter at Texas Roadhouse for more 10 years. He knows   that every great steak starts with a good meat grade and the perfect cut as both have a crucial effect on the meat’s tenderness, juiciness, and flavor. He acknowledges that he has one of the most important jobs in the restaurant.  It takes exemplary skills  and meticulousness to handle and prepare hand-cut steaks that speak of the best quality.

At Texas Roadhouse, steaks are legendary because of the meticulously defined hand-cut steaks that are all grilled to perfection according to every guest’s preference. Sirloin, for instance, are impeccably cut into 6 oz, 12 oz, and 11oz while Bone-In Rib-eye steaks are at 22oz. All other transformations are cut in accordance with the standard requirements of Texas Roadhouse Grill all over the world.
“I’m proud to be the country’s delegate to Taipei next month. The main goal, of course, is to put the country on the map in the meat cutting category," Herher said.
